1st shift - Gatecut Operator

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. The Gate Cut Operator position is in the Casting department, which reports to the Casting Supervisor (Casting Manager is listed as other). The position is full-time, non-exempt, with salary per wage scale. Responsibilities

Perform one or more operations in the manufacturing of an aluminum knuckle for automobiles; Operation of gate cut equipment for multiple production lines; Maintain equipment check sheets and C.O.P. in work area; Cross trained in more than one step of the process after initial training; Use tools such as file, air sander, air chisel, air blow wand, broom, dustpan and squeegee; Physical effort moving lightweight materials; Know and maintain production quantities and quality; Check quality of products and parts used for production; Promote a safety first attitude and follow OSHA regulations; Collaborate with the Casting Supervisor and Quality Assurance teams to ensure equipment maintenance meets quality standards; Follow quality control processes and procedures; Collaborate with the Casting Supervisor to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks and coordinate production schedules; Identify productivity improvement opportunities within the casting process; Provide daily updates to the Casting Supervisor on work progress, equipment performance, production targets and key performance metrics; Monitor key performance metrics including equipment uptime and overall equipment efficiency (OEE); Analyze and interpret data to drive performance optimization; Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to work with others in a team environment; Able and willing to follow work instructions; Good problem-solving abilities; Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships; Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures; Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing priorities and responsibilities; Proficiency in safety regulations, quality control processes specific to the Casting department; Regularly required to stand 8 hrs; Requires repetitive lifting (>700 each shift) of weights up to 15 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds
