3rd Shift Lead Tech Certified

3rd Shift Lead Tech at High Point Medical Center. Full time. Schedule: Third Shift 11p-730a.

Responsibilities

Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and ability to provide guidance and education to SPD employees; Assumes role and responsibilities Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned; Assists Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintaining department production requirements by leading and directing SPD employees; Assists with case carts management and communicates issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor; Uses excellent communication skills when discussing instrument needs with Sterile Processing Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and/or OR Clinical Coordinators; Ensures that all equipment is functioning optimally and report issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and/or the appropriate department; Assists the Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintenance of departmental compliance logs; Assists SPD Manager with implementation and enforcement of departmental policies; Assists with special projects and interdepartmental committees as assigned; Protects self, co-workers and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne disease(s)

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years' experience in Sterile Processing; Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or other sterile processing certification required; Ability to stand for long periods; Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; Ability to work with computer programs such as Excel and others as needed; Ability to order instruments via PeopleSoft

Nice to have

Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire
