We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our Holroyd Howe team at Stowe School . Due to the location of Stowe School, candidates must ideally have their own mode of transport or be able to travel reliably.

As a Apprentice Pastry Chef , you will gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen while working towards a qualification . Under the guidance of experienced Holroyd Howe chefs, you will learn essential skills, including:

Responsibilities

Food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills; Working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment; Understanding and maintaining food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations; Assisting in the production of high-quality meals for students, staff, and special events; Learning how to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes; Supporting stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation

Requirements

A keen interest in cooking and professional catering; GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) – if not already achieved, support will be provided to complete these as part of the apprenticeship; A willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship; A strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and commitment to training; Desirable:; Previous kitchen experience (not essential, but beneficial); A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (if not held, training will be provided); Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and hygiene standards
