Asset Protection Specialist (Part Time), Carson City (Clearview)

As an Asset Protection Specialist (APS), you're not just a security presence, you're the warm, welcoming face of the dispensary and a key part of creating an elevated, friendly, concierge-style experience for our guests. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy connecting with others, maintaining physical readiness to act with urgency, and ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and cared for. Responsibilities

Greet all visitors with warmth and positivity; Manage check-in with professionalism and efficiency while upholding compliance standards; Provide basic concierge-level support, answering common questions and directing traffic; Serve as a visible, approachable, and responsive presence to deter incidents; Monitor store entry/exit and site perimeters for safety, comfort, and compliance; De-escalate situations with empathy, tact, and clear communication; Escort customers and visitors and support store operations; Report and respond urgently to safety, security, or compliance incidents; Support emergency procedures, including fire, evacuation, or weather response; Conduct visual inspections and checks per SOPs; Foster relationships and mutual trust with store teams, leadership, and customers; Share insights on guest interactions, safety concerns, and security risks; Support training of new APS team members; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to work a schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as mornings, days, nights, and weekends; Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance; Pass all required background checks, including state-specific cannabis employment requirements; Possess valid driver's license or state ID; Must be 21 years or older; Meet all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry; Ability to remain alert and responsive during extended periods; Ability to stand, walk, and move about the dispensary for prolonged periods up to the full shift; Ability to move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently; Ability to operate point of sale system, computer, and office software including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and email; Ability to communicate with individuals and groups directly; Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations; Understanding of applicable cannabis laws and regulations, safety regulations, local municipal codes, and standard operating procedures; Ability to follow instructions and incorporate constructive criticism from managers; Operate with professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements; Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when required

Nice to have

At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience (strongly preferred); Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology; Security, military, or law enforcement experience; Commitment to guest-first, hospitality-focused service
