Bakery Sales Associate

The associate is responsible for bakery department duties including stocking and merchandising, customer service and order taking, product freshness and pricing, sanitation, and receiving deliveries, along with other duties as assigned. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand; Greets customers, makes suggestions, answers product questions and resolves customer concerns; Takes customer orders over the phone or in person; Sets up special-order tables, sets bakery cases and builds displays; May write on cakes; Ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced and signed, and handles spoiled or damaged product; May assist with production of breads, pastries and other baked goods following production logs and approved recipes; Maintains general sanitation of the department according to cleaning schedules and health and OSHA requirements; May assist with receiving and storing deliveries and baling cardboard (training provided); Assists in minimizing shrink and reports shortages or overages to manager; Cooperates with co-workers and supervisors; Uses all company-provided personal protective equipment; May assist in other departments

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); No prior experience required
