Bakery Sales Associate (Seasonal)

The Grocery Sales Associate / Market Associate stocks and displays products in the Housewares and Grocery departments and provides outstanding guest service. Reports to the Market Manager.

Responsibilities

Artisan Bread Packaging: Carefully slice, package, and label a high volume of fresh-baked breads daily, ensuring strict quality control and freshness standards.; Visual Merchandising: Creatively arrange bread displays and shelves to look full, appetizing, and organized according to company guidelines.; Inventory & Rotation: Monitor stock levels on the floor, rotate older loaves to the front, and restock artisan items quickly during peak hours.; Customer Engagement: Welcome guests, answer questions about our bread types (such as sourdough fermentation or flour types), and slice bread to order.; Stocks, rotates, merchandises and faces products according to department procedures; Ensures all items are merchandised attractively as per quality standards; Rotates products according to First In First Out (FIFO) standards; Adheres to all guidelines about product recommendations and information; Communicates department’s needs, adjustments and problems promptly and efficiently to manager; Maintains a safe and clean work environment in compliance with department, federal and state regulations; Performs light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal as necessary; Performs other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team; Verbal and written communication skills; High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Previous stocking experience in a retail setting preferred; Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattin
