Behaviour Assistant

We’re recruiting Behaviour Assistants to join a brand-new specialist school opening in Esher this September. Supporting pupils aged 7–17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), you’ll play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new school from day one, helping to create a positive, nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.

Responsibilities

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis throughout the school day; Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop emotional regulation strategies; Building trusted relationships to improve confidence, attendance and engagement; Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom; Working closely with teachers and the pastoral team to meet individual needs

Requirements

Right to work in the UK or valid work visa; Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks; Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Children's Workforce (or Children's & Adults') Update Service, or be willing to obtain one; Calm, resilient and empathetic, with a positive approach; Confident managing behaviour and building positive relationships; Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people

Nice to have

Experience working with children or young people, particularly in education, SEND, care or youth work
