Bodyshop Panel Beater

To repair or replace damaged vehicle body panels, including chassis and framework, in line with manufacturer specifications, repair methods, and job card instructions. The Panel Technician ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard, while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

Repair or replace damaged vehicle body panels, including chassis and framework, in line with manufacturer specifications, repair methods, and job card instructions; Dismantle and repair damaged vehicles by repairing panels or replacing those beyond repair; Work safely with all equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and welding tools; Repair or replace chassis and structural components in line with manufacturer guidance and modification bulletins; Attend training courses as required to stay up to date with new techniques and repair methods; Ensure all repaired vehicles meet company and customer quality expectations; Handle vehicles with care and attention to avoid further damage; Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition; Comply fully with all company health and safety policies, COSHH regulations, and legal requirements; Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and other departments; Communicate effectively regarding job progress, delays, or additional work requirements

Requirements

Previous experience in vehicle body panel repair and replacement; Knowledge of welding, jigging, and structural repair techniques; Understanding of manufacturer specifications, technical bulletins, and repair methods; Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Awareness of health, safety, and COSHH regulations in a bodyshop environment; Reliable, punctual, and professionally presented; Willingness to attend training courses to maintain and improve skills; Minimum 3 years' experience; United Kingdom work authorisation required

Nice to have

IMI Accreditation in Panel; Experience with modern repair technologies, including aluminium and high-strength steel; Experience supervising or mentoring non-qualified staff; Familiarity with structural repair, chassis alignment, and workshop workflow
