Business Systems Architect – Finance (D365 FO)

Axon Enterprise is growing fast, and we’re looking for a trailblazing Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect to help us scale. As a Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect, you’ll be at the center of designing and implementing solutions that support Axon’s financial operations and rapid growth. You will help shape the future of Finance systems by leveraging modern ERP capabilities, automation, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, decision-making, and scalability across the organization. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, sustainable systems that align with our financial and business goals. In our fast-paced environment, embracing complexity and tackling challenges will be key to driving strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, and delivering cutting-edge financial systems.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of financial solutions within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations; Conduct fit/gap analyses and develop detailed design specifications; Design integrations with other financial systems for revenue recognition, tax compliance, financial consolidations, and reporting; Partner with finance stakeholders to assess, refine, and automate key financial processes in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Project Accounting; Identify opportunities to embed AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation within Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and adjacent technologies; Oversee the full lifecycle of finance-related projects within D365 FO; Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, finance teams, developers, and cross-functional partners; Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership; Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting; Provide training and documentation to finance teams and end-users; Mentor and guide the functional analysis team; Serve as the point of contact for D365 FO finance-related matters; Lead financial activities related to mergers and acquisitions; Partner with Finance, IT, and Enterprise Architecture leaders to deliver AI-enabled capabilities; Stay informed of latest D365 Finance, Power Platform, Copilot, AI, and Microsoft cloud capabilities

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and a strong track record of designing and implementing finance-related systems; Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and Dynamics 365 Finance modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and Fixed Assets; Experience creating and implementing legal entities, establishing intercompany trade, managing financial consolidations, currency revaluation, and defining financial dimensions and account structure configuration; Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and revenue recognition; Experience designing and implementing electronic reporting solutions and building reports in Financial Reporter; Proven ability to manage complex projects, from gathering requirements to execution; skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring successful project delivery in a fast-paced environment; Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to solve complex business challenges; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working with senior finance leadership, stakeholders, developers, and analysts; Familiarity with integrating D365 FO with other enterprise applications, ERP systems, and legacy platforms; Experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled business solutions, Microsoft Copilot capabilities, intelligent workflow automation, predictive analytics, or process optimization technologies

Nice to have

D365 certifications in Finance or other relevant modules; Solid understanding of Microsoft’s broader technology stack including Power Platform, Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot capabilities, and modern data and AI technologies; Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and/or Scaled Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps, Jira and SharePoint
