Cardiac Monitor Tech Transport - Periop - AGH - Full Time

The Cardiac Monitor Technician is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the safe and efficient transport of patients, with a specialized focus on continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring during transport. This role also support the operational flow of the facility through stocking duties, specimen transport, and maintaining a clean operating room environment, as well as transporting non-cardiac monitored patients.

Responsibilities

Transports patients throughout the facility, including transporting patients on cardiac monitors from their rooms to testing sites and back on a scheduled basis; accurately analyzing and interpreting ECG rhythms according to procedure, during transport; transporting non-cardiac monitored patients as needed; Performs continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for patients being transported on a cardiac monitor; Assists in maintaining a clean operating room environment by performing duties such as wiping down surfaces, tidying equipment, and ensuring areas are ready for the next case, under the direction of OR staff; Transports specimens safely and efficiently to the appropriate laboratory or department; Maintains transportation equipment in good working order; Performs other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire is required; CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire; Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate; Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate; Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
