Responsibilities

Completing maintenance and repairs for small to medium home and commercial projects, with project length ranging from two hours to two days; Making recommendations and managing expectations with customers about the scope of work and costs; Creating life-long customers by delivering a great experience and following the Mr. Handyman Way; Encouraging customers to complete satisfaction surveys; Meeting revenue targets by finding additional ways to be of service; Invoicing appropriately, sourcing needed materials, and collecting payment from customers; Ensuring work is done correctly the first time under the one-year guarantee

Requirements

A commitment to fulfilling the “Mr Handyman Way!”; Workmanship that reflects excellence and integrity; A positive attitude that reflects someone who finds the answers to problems and gets the job done; A respect for all people, both in the office and in the field; Enthusiasm and energy in your work; Self-manage as you’ll be alone often; Speak with customers and provide excellent customer service while asking for reviews and collecting payments; Have the necessary tools, including the ability to use technology; Document the job while following the Mr. Handyman Way; Wear proper PPE as well as booties to protect customers’ homes; Live within the area; Have 8+ years’ experience as a paid handyman; Own your own tools; Be insurable for driving our vehicle; Complete a background and driving record check; Able to lift 50 pounds independently; Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods of time; Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle; Strong proficiency in at least three of the following: Carpentry work, Bathroom improvements, Kitchen improvements, Painting both inside and out, Drywall work minor and major repairs, General plumbing and electrical where allowed by law, Floor installation and refurbishing, Familiar with building codes
