Certified Medication Aide - Assisted Living (AL)/Part Time/7AM-3PM

Responsible for the safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments, providing personal care and general nursing care to residents, and ensuring delivery of care and services to all residents, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), room cleanliness, scheduled activities, dining services, and individual service plan needs. Part-time position, 7AM-3PM.

Responsibilities

Safely administer all prescribed medications and treatments as listed on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR); Supervise self-administered medication in the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal, State, and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines; Count and sign for narcotics with approved personnel and report discrepancies immediately; Order medications and treatments from the pharmacy and notify supervisors of low supplies; Receive and verify medications against pharmacy labels and MAR; Store medications properly and date vials or bottles upon opening; Inspect medications weekly and remove expired medications; Compare MARs at change over and remove discontinued medication; Provide personal care (bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, eating); Provide general nursing care (vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, weights); Clean medication carts daily and deep clean weekly; Document in the daily log, answer calls, and assist residents as assigned; Prepare medical charts for new admissions and readmissions, completed within 48 hours; Attend staff training and in-services

Requirements

A High School Diploma or General Education Degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1+ months of experience; Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations; Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties and communicate with supervisors and employees; Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Superior time management skills; Strong team player with a passion for helping seniors; Proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt
