Certified Nurse Aide

Responsibilities

Assists with activities of daily living and encourages attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion; Acts as an advocate for disabled individuals in communicating their needs, self-expression, and goals; Provides daily individual and group contact to clients through the delivery of recreation and leisure activities; Plans and prepares for the group and special event programming for clients; Documents weekly progress toward group and intervention participation; Participates in treatment team meetings and shift change reports

Requirements

Current Nurse Aide certification (CNA); CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire; 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services) OR Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare); Knowledge of client protocols and interventions of therapy; Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Practice Partner; Knowledge of procedures of specialized sensory programs to include olfactory, vestibular motion, tactile implements, and auditory interventions; Knowledge of mental illnesses and disabilities; Knowledge of program adaptations; Knowledge of recreation and social programming; Knowledge of motivational techniques; Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs; Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends as scheduled; Background check including fingerprints; Annual influenza vaccination required; Annual testing for tuberculosis; Follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19; Pre-employment drug testing
