- Thursday 4:00pm - 8:00pm
- Saturday 4:00pm - 8:00pm

The Warehouse in Feilding, New Zealand, is seeking a friendly and efficient Checkout Team Member to join our retail family. As a crucial part of our front-line team, you'll be responsible for ensuring a positive shopping experience for our valued customers.

- Operate the checkout counter efficiently, processing customer transactions accurately and promptly
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers with a warm smile and assisting with enquiries
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and other forms of tender with precision
- Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area
- Assist with bagging items and ensuring customers' purchases are properly packaged
- Stay informed about current promotions, store policies, and product information to address customer questions
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth flow of customers through the checkout area
- Perform end-of-day reconciliation of cash registers and prepare cash deposits
- Assist with additional tasks as required, such as returns processing or stock replenishment

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour; Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written; Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash registers; Solid mathematical skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately; Keen attention to detail to ensure error-free work; Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment; Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift items of varying weights; Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; Previous experience in retail or customer service is desirable but not essential; A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organisation
