Chief Engineer

Direct and oversee all engineering, maintenance, and repair activities throughout the hotel. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and building systems.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee all engineering, maintenance, and repair activities throughout the hotel; Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and building systems; Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate Engineering Department associates; Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, fire life safety, and brand standards; Maintain operational knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building automation systems; Respond to emergency situations involving equipment failures, utility interruptions, or safety concerns; Manage departmental budgets, expenses, inventories, and purchasing activities; Coordinate and oversee outside contractors, service providers, and vendor relationships; Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, grounds, and mechanical areas to identify maintenance needs and ensure quality standards; Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance activities, inspections, warranties, permits, and equipment inventories; Participate in capital planning and property improvement projects; Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and according to established procedures; Support hotel operations by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and associates; Participate in manager-on-duty coverage and emergency response activities as required; Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management

Requirements

Minimum three (3) years of hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience; Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems; Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics; Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems; Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins; Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
