Cleaning Shift Manager

We're looking for a Cleaning Shift Manager who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and managing a cleaning team.

Responsibilities

Support the Cleaning Management Team in all matters relating to service delivery; Provide exceptional leadership and day-to-day management of the centre team; Act as the on-shift lead for cleaning operations; Coordinate cleaning across all common and public areas; Complete shift walk-rounds and quality checks; Plan and allocate daily tasks and priorities through Over C; Deliver reactive cleaning; Plan periodic deep cleans; Oversee waste management; Manage stock levels for cleaning consumables, chemicals and PPE; Maintain a consistently high level of customer service; Create and review rotas, allocate shifts on Workplace+; Create, update and deliver site cleaning risk assessments and COSHH documentation; Lead, support and motivate the on-shift cleaning team; Manage time and attendance; Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring; Carry out regular performance reviews; Support recruitment activity; Hold regular team briefings; Train cleaning operatives on use of Over C; Support management of KPIs and SLAs

Requirements

Previous experience supervising or managing cleaning operations in a customer-facing environment; Strong customer service mindset with confident, professional communication skills; Good working knowledge of H&S requirements for cleaning, including COSHH, risk assessments and accident/incident reporting; Ability to organise work, allocate tasks and manage priorities under time pressure; Highly proficient in the use of IT systems and computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and email platforms; Experienced in using a variety of computer-based systems for administration, scheduling, communication, and record keeping; Strong knowledge of mobile phone and app-based systems; Ability to monitor and respond to digital alerts from Over C; Flexibility to work varied shift patterns including early/late shifts and weekends; Full UK driving licence essential; Enthusiastic, motivational, someone who strives for excellence; Someone who takes the initiative and drives for results; Strong commercial awareness; Organised, able to make robust judgements and prioritise; Honest, transparent and consistent; Excellent communication skills; Ability to contribute toward a team operation or work on own initiative; Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels; Comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures; Skillful negotiator capable of resolving staff issues; Decisive and assertive decision maker; Excellent report-writing, investigative and analytical skills; Excellent organisational and time management skills; Positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges

Nice to have

Experience of auditing cleaning standards and driving continuous improvement; Relevant industry experience (preferred but not essential)
