Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Cardiac Rehab - Full Time

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting patients through cardiac rehabilitation by conducting assessments, monitoring exercise sessions, developing treatment plans, and providing patient education. The position also includes managing a patient caseload, documenting progress, coordinating care, and modifying treatment plans based on clinical outcomes. Depending on department needs, the role may also support wellness, fitness, occupational health, and community-based programs.

Responsibilities

Patient assessment/monitoring (biometric data, EKG, medical record/patient history review, medication reconciliation, signs and symptoms, exercise tolerance, mental health status, quality of life, dietary habits); Exercise testing (submaximal and exercise tolerance testing, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility); Exercise prescription and treatment plan development, implementation, and modification; Exercise training and leadership (communicating proper execution of exercise and equipment use, communicating safety strategies); Education and behavior change (identifying educational needs, communicating health information, facilitating group education attendance, patient goal setting and engagement, motivational interviewing and active listening); Documentation of clinical status and exercise response in the medical record, and regular progress reporting to referring providers and medical director; Maintaining a safe environment by following infection control procedures and reporting equipment malfunctions or environmental concerns; Scheduling/referral work queue management, contacting patients in a timely manner about the program and first appointment; Managing a patient caseload and coordinating care

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field; Certification through ACSM (Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist) or AACVPR (Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional or Pulmonary Rehabilitation Certificate) within 3 years, if no Master's Degree; Current BLS certification; Interpretive/analytical skills; Effective interpersonal communication skills; Organizational skills; Windows software knowledge (Office)

Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
