Clinical Nurse Educator - NICU - FT - Nights - JDCH

This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus, as advertised, based on applicant eligibility. Schedule flexibility required to participate in meetings/trainings on the day shift. Schedule could be changed to three 12 hour 7:00pm to 7:00am shifts, plus one 4 additional hour shift.-Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.

Responsibilities

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff; Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff; Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization; Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s); Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions; Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice; Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development; Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s); Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives; May perform clinical patient care when needed; Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s)

Requirements

Bachelors: Nursing (Required); BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association; PALS American Heart_non ecard (PALS AHA) - American Heart Association; Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL); Three (3) years nursing experience; Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience; Critical thinking skills; Effective communication skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action; APHON Provider and PALS required for JDC- Hematology/Oncology; ACCOUNTABILITY; CLINICAL POLICIES AND STANDARDS - EDU; CUSTOMER SERVICE; EDUCATION AND TRAINING; EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION - EDUCATION; EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS; PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE; PATIENT SAFETY - NURSING; RESPONDING TO CHANGE; STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR
