Clinical Nurse Educator - Pediatric ICU - FT - Nights - JDCH

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff; Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives; Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s); Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice; Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s); Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development; May perform clinical patient care when needed; Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization; Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s); Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions

Requirements

Bachelors: Nursing (Required); Advanced Practicing Registered Nurse (APRN) - State of Florida; BLS Certification; Registered Nurse License - State of Florida; Three (3) years nursing experience; Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience; Critical thinking skills; Effective communication skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful environment; Department Specific - JDC Hematology/Oncology: APHON Provider and PALS required
