CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator

Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a highly regarded precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator.

Responsibilities

Program, set and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently; Produce precision-machined components from engineering drawings and technical specifications; Programme and machine complex parts on 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines; Create setup sheets and tooling documentation to ensure repeatable manufacturing processes; Carry out online programming using Heidenhain controls; Inspect and verify own work using a range of measuring equipment; Manufacture components to tight tolerances, typically around 20 microns; Machine large-scale components up to approximately 2.5 metres in size; Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and training where required; Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment; Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives; Ensure quality standards are achieved through a right-first-time approach

Requirements

Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines; Strong Heidenhain control experience is essential; Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining; Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; Experience producing components to tight tolerances; Competent using measuring and inspection equipment; Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality; Positive attitude with excellent communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have

Previous experience with Doosan, Matsuura or Mazak machinery advantageous; Experience machining large components beneficial; Apprenticeship-trained engineer preferred but not essential
