CNC Operator - 3rd Shift

Grinds rotary tooling to specification per work instructions. Sets blade clearance per specifications per work instructions on both manual and CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

Grinds rotary tooling to specification per work instructions; Sets blade clearance per specifications; Set up indication and grinding of rotary tooling; Double checks clearance on roll tag; Compares order form to work instructions; Informs department lead of problems; Sweep and clean area around machine; Prioritize work according to lead's instructions; Grind flats in roll when needed; Maintains grinding wheel; Maintain tooling supply; Wear proper PPE; Measure bearer diameter with micrometer to determine taper and clearance; Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Previous machining experience and/or trade school graduate; Ability to prioritize effectively; Ability to assimilate and retain quickly a variety of information concerning company organization, policy and products; Proficient skill level simple mathematics; Know how to use micrometers and calipers; Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively; Ability to work with supervision to realize company goals; Able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally; Stands while working – 2 hours at a time; Some overtime required
