Commercial Analyst, East

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Commercial Analyst to join our Finance team, based at our office in Brisbane. This is a Monday to Friday hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home two days per week. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position is suited to a high-performing commercial professional who is confident operating beyond traditional reporting responsibilities. The successful candidate will play an important role in partnering with operational leaders to understand business performance, identify key financial drivers and provide clear, considered analysis that supports improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

Preparing monthly management accounts and financial performance reports; Providing meaningful analysis on financial results, trends and variances; Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes; Partnering with branch and operational leaders to understand performance drivers; Supporting month-end and year-end close activities; Assisting with statutory, regulatory, audit and group reporting requirements; Maintaining balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and review; Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and business partnering outcomes

Requirements

Strong commercial discipline, analytical capability and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business; A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; Experience in corporate accounting, management accounting, financial reporting or audit; Strong capability in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP or reporting systems; The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders; Strong attention to detail, accountability and the ability to deliver within deadlines; A proactive, solutions-focused approach with sound commercial judgement

Nice to have

CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, highly regarded
