Connections Cafe Supervising Retail Coordinator

Supports the day-to-day operations of a retail dining location. Ensures exceptional customer service and maintains high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and product quality while leading a team of student employees. Directly supervises student employees, trains, assists with scheduling, and manages a retail dining operation, acting as a liaison between students, staff, and the dining management team.

Responsibilities

Supports and oversees the daily operations of a retail/convenience store dining location; ensures exceptional customer service and maintains high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and product quality; directly supervises student employment staff, trains, interviews, hires, orients, and schedules employees; acts as primary performance manager and performs disciplinary action when necessary; assists with inventory control, product ordering, restocking, point-of-sale handling, and financial record maintenance; maintains cleanliness and organization, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines; resolves customer complaints or concerns in a professional and efficient manner; coordinates maintenance of retail-service equipment

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail, food services, or dining operations role; equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to lead and manage others; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; basic knowledge of food safety standards and point-of-sale handling procedures; ability to train, motivate, and develop staff; ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs; Serv-Safe and other applicable certifications within 12 months of hire; availability needs are 5am-5pm; weekend availability required

Associate Degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, a food-related service, or related field; experience in a leadership position
