Cook - Airstream - 1st Shift

Our mission is to be Waukegan's top gaming and entertainment hub, renowned for our exceptional hospitality and guest experience. The ideal cook candidate is a skilled, disciplined professional with a strong culinary foundation and a commitment to excellence. They must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of executing precise techniques under pressure while maintaining composure and cleanliness. As a cook for the Asia Azteca, you will be responsible for executing daily prep and service with precision and consistency in an Asian and Latin American cuisine-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Execute daily prep and service with precision and consistency in an Asian and Latin American cuisine-focused environment; Prepare a variety of Asian dishes, such as stir-fries and noodle-based dishes; Participate in line checks; Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas; Ensure prep meets the Chef's standards for Asian-inspired offerings; Follow all health and safety regulations; Support daily sanitation efforts; Assist in educating front-of-house staff on daily specials; Work under the guidance of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chefs

Requirements

1-2 years of previous cooking experience is preferred; Experience utilizing a wok or other traditional Asian cuisine equipment is preferred; Knowledge of health and sanitation standards; Proper cooking techniques and knife skills; Food Knowledge; Able to lift up to 25-30 lbs; Able to stand for long periods; Able to navigate crowded spaces; Flexibility in bending and reaching; Adaptability to casino conditions, including bright lights and noise; Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations; Able to obtain/maintain Food Handlers ServSafe certifications as required by the Lake County Health Department regulations
