Crew Leader - Indiana

In this role, you will lead field crews, coordinate project execution, and ensure compliance with company procedures and FRA regulations. You will play a key role in training employees, managing resources, and maintaining high safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct crews performing track construction and rail yard work; Plan and coordinate materials, equipment, and staffing for projects; Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with FRA rules and company procedures; Oversee daily crew activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety; Train and onboard new employees; Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet timelines; Support cost control and efficient use of resources; Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; 5-7 years of experience in railroad track construction; Strong knowledge of track construction, maintenance, and defect identification; Ability to operate and train others on heavy equipment (backhoe, front-end loader); Strong communication and leadership skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks; Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and safety standards; Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; Ability to lift and move equipment (up to ~75 lbs); Ability to pass a drug screen and background check; FRA certification required when applicable
