CT Technologist

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) independently; Analyzes results and identifies issues with quality of imaging results; Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure; Enters, transmits and reports scan results; Reviews patient history and physician's orders; Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam; Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered; Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status; Prepares equipment and supplies; Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters; Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment; Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary; Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one-year related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience; ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography (R) or NMTCB registered (CNMT) required at time of hire; Computed Tomography (CT) certified or NMTCB registered (CT) certification within 18 months of hire or transfer; CPR – American Heart Association; Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate; Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate; Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
