CT Technologist-Strong West

CT Technologist position at Strong West Hospital. Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies with regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist. Responsible for performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IV's, scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, injecting IV contrast, preparing oral contrast, completing all associated paper and computer work, and discharging the patient from the CT department with appropriate post CT instructions. Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders; Responsible for performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IV's, scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner; Injecting IV contrast; Preparing oral contrast; Completing all associated paper and computer work; Discharging the patient from the CT department with appropriate post CT instructions; Identifies patient service requirements and educates patients/families regarding procedure; Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures; Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them for timely interpretation; Prepares and maintains accurate documentation; Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA); Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements; Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance; Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors

Requirements

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Licensed Radiologic Technologist - current NYS licensure upon hire; ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire
