Director of Cost & Ops Finance

Harmonic is excited to be partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed CPG brand undergoing rapid operational scale. With ambitious plans to exceed $250M in revenue, the company is investing heavily in its manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure to support continued expansion. As complexity increases across production, inventory, and distribution, the business is building out a best-in-class finance function to drive visibility, accountability, and margin performance. This role will be a critical hire in connecting financial insights directly to operational execution. We're looking for a hands-on and highly impactful Director of Cost & Operations Finance to own and improve gross margin performance across the business. This individual will serve as the key bridge between finance and operations, translating plant-level activity into actionable financial insights. This is not a traditional reporting role, this leader will be deeply embedded in manufacturing and supply chain, owning cost accounting, partnering with production teams, and driving real operational improvements that enhance profitability.

Responsibilities

Own and enhance the cost accounting function, including standard costing, BOMs, routings, and inventory valuation; Lead plant-level P&L analysis, including detailed variance analysis across yield, labor, and overhead; Partner with production planning to evaluate financial implications of supply and demand plans; Build and maintain reporting on cost per unit, gross margin, and plant performance; Translate operational data into clear financial insights to support decision-making; Drive cost reduction initiatives tied to tangible operational improvements; Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory and costing data within NetSuite; Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Leadership to align on performance and strategy

Requirements

Proven experience in manufacturing finance, including ownership of cost accounting and inventory; Hands-on experience with NetSuite, specifically Advanced Manufacturing, WIP, and Routing; Experience leading or heavily contributing to a NetSuite manufacturing implementation or major system enhancement; Strong understanding of BOMs, yields, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption; Track record of driving measurable improvements in gross margin and cost structure; Experience operating in high-growth or scaling manufacturing environments; Ability to operate as a hands-on leader, comfortable working cross-functionally with plant and operations teams

Nice to have

Background as a Plant Controller or in a similar operations finance leadership role; Experience in private equity-backed or performance-driven environments, ideally in Food & Beverage or CPG; Prior experience building or refining cost accounting processes in a scaling business; Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both financial and operational stakeholders
