Director of Procurement (Remote)

As our Procurement Director, you will be the senior procurement leader for the company, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. You will own how Rula buys, from the first intake request to the final contract renewal, leading strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiating complex vendor contracts that deliver fair pricing, clear terms, and strong service levels. You will also take ownership of the Zip procurement platform, improving intake routing, approval speed, and the experience for the teams who use it, while staying on top of new tools and using AI and automation to make procurement faster and easier.

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior procurement leader for the company, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer; Own how the company buys, from first intake request to final contract renewal; Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate complex vendor contracts that deliver fair pricing, clear terms, and strong service levels; Take ownership of the Zip procurement platform, improving intake routing, approval speed, and user experience; Use AI and automation to make procurement faster and easier; Analyze spend, build financial models, and partner with Finance so purchasing decisions align with budget; Create a proactive renewal tracking system and maintain a complete, auditable record of vendor commitments; Work with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance to support business needs while maintaining legal and financial standards; Build a clear, efficient, and supportive purchasing process across the company

Requirements

10+ years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 7 years dedicated to strategic sourcing; Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts to deliver fair terms, value, and risk mitigation; Strong background in spend analysis, financial modeling, and aligning purchasing decisions with company budget requirements; Highly analytical approach to assessing procurement needs, evaluating supplier performance, and generating data-driven recommendations; Strong partnership skills with a track record of aligning with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance teams; Practical understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, with experience creating clear, auditable tracking systems for contract renewals and obligations; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects, vendor reviews, and deadlines effectively; Ability to create clarity, structure, and priorities in dynamic or rapidly changing environments; Hands-on sourcing execution and experience leading/managing procurement teams

Nice to have

Experience using or optimizing the Zip procurement intake platform; Prior experience working within the healthcare or health-tech industry; Experience evolving operational systems and purchasing workflows into scalable, enterprise-grade capabilities; Demonstrated ability to connect procurement initiatives to broader organizational goals, multi-year business strategies, and financial models; Experience driving user adoption for new processes or platforms (like Zip) across teams with varying technical or procurement familiarity
