Cyberhaven is building Flow, a unified data security platform spanning Human Data Security, Agentic Data Security, and Data Security Posture Management. The role leads the design team and owns what Flow feels like to use, setting the experience vision for the platform, defining interaction patterns for security work that is part human and part agentic, and leading the designers and researchers who make it real. This is a hands-on leadership role that leads a small, talented team of designers and partners directly with the CPO, product management, engineering, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end product design experience across Flow, HDS, ADS, and DSPM, from the analyst's daily workflow to how the platform holds together as one product; Define the next-generation experience vision for the platform, including how humans and AI agents work together (agent-assisted investigation, human-in-the-loop decisions, explainability, and interaction patterns for trust and override); Lead, coach, and grow a team of product designers, and raise the standard for craft, critique, and design decision-making; Own the UX research function and ensure the team's work is grounded in evidence (customer interviews, usability testing, support and RFE signal, product instrumentation); Partner with product management and engineering from the earliest stage of every major initiative, shaping problem definition and scope; Build and evolve the design system and patterns that let a growing engineering organization ship consistently at speed; Establish how design measures itself (usability benchmarks, task success, time to resolution, adoption of new surfaces, support deflection) and report against it; Drive the experience work behind platform migration so the move to Flow is something customers want; Represent the customer's experience in executive forums such as roadmap reviews, business reviews, and planning

Requirements

10+ years in product design, including 4+ years leading and developing designers, with a portfolio of shipped work you can walk through end to end; Worked in cybersecurity, or designed for security operations, insider risk, or data protection teams; Set an experience vision for a complex product and then delivered against it, with patterns and surfaces that shipped and held up; Experienced with complex, expert-user enterprise software (security, IT operations, observability, data infrastructure, or similar domains); Designed AI-powered or agentic product experiences and has a point of view on trust, transparency, control, and what happens when the model is wrong; Strong systems thinker who can hold a platform-level information architecture and build design systems that make teams faster; Values and uses research and knows how to run the function and act on results; Exceptional communicator and influencer who can deliver unwelcome truths to executives and leave with a decision; People leader first who develops designers, gives direct feedback, and builds a team; Operates with urgency and judgment in a fast-moving environment and is comfortable making progress before every input is in hand; Located in the US (SF Bay Area preferred); Led design through a major platform migration or the consolidation of several products into one; Experience building a design function (hiring, leveling, process, and operating rhythm)
