Emerson 4 - Registered Nurse (36 hours/week 7pm-7:30am)

Manages individualized, outcome oriented nursing care through the use of the nursing process. Provides care, treatment and services through the successful coordination and completion of a series of processes that include assessment, planning care, providing care, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Medication administration in accordance with SSH policies; Medication reconciliation; Narcotic documentation, administration, count, waste and discrepancy resolution; Develop, evaluate and update individualized plan of care and document outcomes; Admission assessment within 8 hours of admission; Patient and family teaching; Ongoing assessment and reassessment of care needs; Documentation of patient care and nurse sensitive indicators; Pain assessment and documentation; Facilitate discharge/transfer by 12:00pm; Patient identification verification and safety practices; Hand hygiene and infection control compliance; Participation in emergency preparedness; Professional development and evidence-based practice; Compliance with policies, procedures, and privacy/security programs; Patient and family centered care; Use of technology and software applications required by department

Requirements

RN - Registered Nurse license; Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (preferred); Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Emergency Response Training Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification (may be required depending on department); Knowledge of MA Nurse Practice Act; Ability to complete 5 contact hours per year in area of practice
