Environmental Social Governance Senior Director

Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Director of Environmental Social Governance. In this position, you are responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of Daikin Applied Americas' corporate EHS and ESG programs. This role partners with executive leadership, site and district operations, and global EHS/ESG stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable local, regional, and federal regulations, while embedding a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide ESG strategies aligned with long-term business goals; Champion corporate sustainability initiatives and guide sites in achieving sustainability goals; Develop and implement corporate ESG policies and procedures; Lead other ESG professionals and assist leadership in creating team plans; Direct the ESG components of due diligence, integration, and post-merger alignment for M&A; Support enterprise-wide ESG governance, strategy, and data transparency, including ESG materiality assessments and GRI reporting; Present ESG metrics and risk trends to the Executive Safety and Environmental Committee and executive leadership; Collaborate across departments to embed EHS and ESG principles into business practices; Act as senior corporate liaison with industry organizations, regulators, and third-party stakeholders; Support enterprise risk identification and mitigation; Design and implement internal EHS/ESG auditing frameworks and oversee third-party audits; Lead severe incident investigations and corrective actions; Set strategy for and lead an industrial hygiene program; Monitor and evaluate site exposure to risk of injury and loss; Set strategy for and develop EH&S training programs; Maintain knowledge of local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations; Develop and implement metrics tracking systems for reporting and continuous improvement; Work with Daikin Industries Limited on implementation and tracking of ESG items; Address IDLH situations by implementing immediate fixes to protect employees; Serve as secondary contact with local government agencies for ESG concerns; Drive ESG culture through change management and employee engagement; Perform other assigned EHS-related tasks

Requirements

4 Year Bachelor's Degree in or Equivalent in Engineering, Environmental, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene discipline undergrad degree; Certificate CSP, CHMM, Certified Sustainability Professional or equivalent; 12+ years related experience including 8+ years people leadership experience; Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
