Equity Analyst

The main purpose of this role is to conduct in-depth fundamental equity research on industries, companies and individual equities to make buy/sell recommendations; then clearly communicate research to investment team.

Responsibilities

Provide fundamental research on industries, companies, and their publicly traded securities; Provide valuation analysis leading to recommendation of investment actions; Present investment recommendations and associated research to the investment team in a clear concise manner; Monitor market, economic, policy, and company-specific developments and assess their impact on portfolio positioning and risk; Analyze portfolio holdings, attribution, and relative performance to identify trade opportunities, risks, and associated actions; Maintain relationships with sell-side analysts and industry contacts to strengthen research insight and idea generation; Prepare clear written communication and present complex investment theses to a wide variety of audiences; Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Deep knowledge of equity markets, portfolio construction, valuation methods, and fundamental equity research; Ability to explain complex investment ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences; Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across investment teams; Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities; Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values; Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field required; 5+ years of experience in equity research, portfolio management, or investment analysis required

Nice to have

MBA or other advanced study preferred; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred
