Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Join Sun City Animal Hospital, a welcoming 2-doctor small animal practice in Indian Land, South Carolina, serving the greater Charlotte metro area. As part of our veterinary team, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality care to our patients and support to our clients.

Responsibilities

Safely and compassionately handling and restraining pets during exams and procedures; Triaging incoming patients and assisting with patient flow; Collecting and processing laboratory samples and assisting with diagnostic testing; Taking and assisting with radiographs (x-rays) and other diagnostic imaging; Providing nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with a range of conditions and stability levels; Administering medications and treatments as directed; Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients regarding treatment plans and patient care; Assisting with surgical preparation, surgical support, and anesthetic monitoring

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience preferred (1+ year ideal); Compassionate, calm under pressure, and a true team player who thrives in a collaborative environment; Strong communicator with excellent multitasking skills and a positive, can-do attitude; Comfortable and confident handling and safely restraining pets of all sizes and temperaments; Hands-on experience with sample collection, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with laboratory testing and radiographs; Self-motivated and eager to continue expanding knowledge and advancing clinical skills

Nice to have

Surgical and anesthesia experience; Continuing education and advancing clinical skills
