Field Performance Technician

The Field Performance Technicians are responsible for the management, scheduling, and completion of all service and warranty related work. The Field Service / Field Performance Technician must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the Performance O&M team. This position will interact closely with the customers, Branch Manager, the Senior Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the centralized scheduling Field Service Team.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve solar electric warranty and service issues with modules, inverters, monitoring and balance of system components; investigate and mitigate reported roof leaks with documentation including roof leak checklist, photos and written observations; communicate with Construction Supervisor and Engineering Team members to resolve redline issues; receive, update and complete Field Service Dispatches with Service Dashboard in Salesforce; ensure timely communication and completion of service and warranty work with emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction; develop and refine processes and gain technical skills for residential solar photovoltaic systems following department policy

Requirements

High School diploma; 1-3 years of previous field construction or solar experience; clean driving record and ability to pass driving background check; 21 years of age and valid driver's license; Electrical Journeyman certification or license may be required depending on state requirements; knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards; motivated team player; proven track record of excellent customer service; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and time management skills; strong computer skills; electrical/PV installation knowledge including working knowledge of current NEC codes, ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter, knowledge of electrical principles for solar interconnection/tie-in and code, understanding of interconnection activities and basic construction principles; adherence to company safety policies and procedures; ability to establish rapport and build relationships with customers and coworkers; results driven with ability to meet deadlines and key metrics; logical decision making and troubleshooting skills; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance, work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, climb ladders, work in outdoor weather conditions, use fine motor skills, use safety equipment, maintain balance on roofs, work in sun and low light, walk on rafters/roof tiles/shingles, distinguish colors, work in confined spaces, hear verbal commands, and work with chemicals using appropriate protections
