Field Technician

Responsibilities

Environmental sampling of soil, water, groundwater, and air; Perform a wide variety of field duties for both routine/scheduled and emergency environmental projects to include: inspection, maintenance, monitoring, construction oversight, air monitoring, and sampling efforts at the project sites; Completes detailed, accurate field notes, photographs, and field sketches and prepares daily field reports in a timely manner; Collects samples from the field (soil, groundwater, surface water, drinking water, etc.) in accordance with established procedures; Maintains and operates field equipment/instrumentation as needed in accordance with specified procedures

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of field experience; Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently if required; Strong team-player skills; Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; Ability and willingness to travel regionally and overnight 50-75% of the time (including working outdoors in adverse weather conditions); Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills; Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills; Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude; Positive attitude; good interpersonal skills; Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug & alcohol testing; Follow all safety and security procedures; Ensures the safety of all crew members, clients, and the public; Represent Sphere 3 Environmental while interfacing with public and private sector clients and the general public

Nice to have

B.S. in environmental science, biology, or related field is preferred; 1 - 2 years of wetland delineation experience is preferred
