Finance Operations Associate

Bobyard uses AI to automate takeoffs and estimates in the construction industry so bids get done 10x faster. Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear. The finance team is small and the company is growing quickly. The role is the first Finance Operations hire, reporting directly to the Finance Lead and working with company management to manage critical finance systems and processes supporting growth. The role runs day-to-day Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the inputs for the month-end close. As the team grows, the role will take on bigger projects in fundraising, billing systems, and scaling the finance function.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable: bill processing, managing approvals and setting limits, issuing cards, vendor tracking, and coding spend across the organization; Accounts Receivable and Collections: invoicing hygiene, ensuring timely billing, managing AR aging, navigating customer contract terms, and executing customer follow-up; Review transactions weekly and flag anything that looks wrong before it becomes a problem at close; Prepare month-end close inputs and reconciliations for the outside accounting team; Operate billing and quote-to-cash tools (Stripe, HubSpot, and the billing platform) and help improve how they connect; Keep the finance calendar across payroll, AP, collections, tax, and reporting deadlines; Support fundraising and diligence with clean data, documentation, and analysis

Requirements

2–5 years in accounting, finance operations, or startup finance; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience; Hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable experience; Admin experience with a spend management platform (Ramp/Brex preferred); Solid understanding of accounting basics: accruals, reconciliations, and revenue vs. cash; Extensive experience building and managing spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets); Detail-oriented and fast; Enjoys doing the work at a startup

Nice to have

Experience with billing tools like Stripe, Tabs, or Chargebee; Worked through a fundraise, audit, or diligence process; Experience at an outsourced accounting firm or as an early finance hire at a startup; Built a cash forecast, AR dashboard, or spend analysis that changed a decision
