Food Technician Teacher

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher with experience supporting learners with additional needs? Our client, a reputable Academy-SEND educational provider, is seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent role.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to individual learning needs; Adapt practical cooking and food preparation activities to ensure accessibility and participation for all pupils; Teach key topics including food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and healthy living; Promote confidence, independence, and creativity through practical learning experiences; Support pupils' social, emotional, and personal development within a structured learning environment; Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and therapists to support pupil progress and behaviour; Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations; Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching strategies as required; Prepare and manage resources, ingredients, and equipment effectively to support practical lessons

Requirements

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); Experience delivering Food Technology lessons across a range of abilities and key stages; Passionate about developing practical life skills, healthy eating habits, and learner independence; Strong behaviour management and classroom engagement skills; Excellent communication and team-working abilities; Commitment to high standards of care and educational development

Nice to have

Demonstrable experience supporting learners with ASD/ASC or additional needs
