Forest School Lead

You’ll be joining Forest Barn Nursery as a key part of every child’s journey, keeping our children safe, loved and inspired through play-based learning. Our nurseries are warm and nurturing environments that not only support children to be ready for school, but also equip them with all the life skills they need to flourish and succeed. A Forest School Leader plans, delivers, and manages outdoor learning sessions, fostering children’s development while ensuring safety and promoting the Forest School ethos.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver a range of Forest School sessions with children across the school; To further develop and promote the Forest School; Plan and deliver the Forest School Curriculum through weekly sessions to year groups of children as specified at agreed times in the year; Deliver weekly Forest School Nurture group provision to support children's specific social, communication, behaviour or wellbeing needs; Promote the values and ethos of the school; Provide appropriate advice and guidance to volunteers or support staff assisting with sessions

Requirements

Forest School Lead qualification; Early Years qualification at Level 2/3; Experience working with all age groups within Early Years; Knowledge of the EYFS framework; A true love for child development and care; Able and willing to work in a team; Ability to communicate effectively with management, your peers and parents; High levels of care and empathy that every opportunity can be a learning opportunity
