Front-End Developer

We're hiring a Front-End Developer to build the websites that carry our biggest brands. We're growing, and so is the work. We've got a packed pipeline of major builds, including headless Shopify Plus storefronts, integration-heavy WordPress sites, brochure websites, and everything in between. This is a hybrid role based out of our Maine headquarters, with flexibility for remote work. You'll report to our VP of Development.

Responsibilities

Take Figma designs and turn them into fast, accessible, mobile-first websites; Build custom WordPress themes using ACF and Gutenberg, and custom Shopify storefronts; Architect centralized data layers, shortcode and component systems, custom post types, and metafield schemas; Wire up integrations including online banking handoffs, mortgage rate syncs, Recharge subscriptions, CRM/marketing automation, Storefront API, checkout extensibility, and analytics/tag stack; Hold the line on performance, accessibility, and security (Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.2 AA); Own QA, staging, and launch including cross-browser/device QA, staging review on Pantheon Multidev, UAT, and go-live; Run client training sessions and write documentation; Build with AI tools and contribute ideas for AI improvements; Help grow the practice by bringing ideas on standards, tools, and workflows

Requirements

3+ years building production websites or a portfolio that makes the years beside the point; Fluent in semantic and accessible HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+); Custom WordPress themes with Gutenberg and ACF; Shopify theming and Liquid; Comfort with integrations, data architecture, and compliance and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA); At home in Git, the command line, component-based work, Tailwind and React; Curious about AI and already using it to build better; Responsive, performant, pixel-honest UX attention; Curious, collaborative, low-ego, driven to ship great work

Nice to have

Shopify Plus (checkout extensibility, metafields and metaobjects, subscriptions); Headless and Storefront API; Northeast-based (New England/wider Northeast)
