Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant

Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. This role is as much about building genuine relationships with residents and colleagues as it is about clinical skill. New Grads are Welcome!

Responsibilities

Provides services under the direction of a licensed physical therapist; Identifies resident care issues and communicates them clearly to the physical therapist; Administers treatment programs for residents with attention to their comfort and individual needs; Documents resident care services according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures; Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting residents in physical, ambulatory, and daily living activities; Builds rapport and trust with residents through their recovery; Helps residents use supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses; Instructs and counsels residents on therapeutic regimens, growth and development information, and wellness and health maintenance; Collaborates with team members to support an inclusive workplace culture

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited therapy program; 2–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification; Physical stamina to lift, transfer, and assist residents through physical activities; Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs. unassisted; Ability to communicate clearly with residents in person and over the phone; Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of residents and reading printed sources and computer screens; Medium-heavy physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 45 pounds of force repeatedly
