General Assistant / Cleaner

As a General Assistant (Cleaner), you'll play a vital role in creating that experience. From maintaining immaculate gym floors and changing facilities to supporting the overall presentation of the club, your work will help ensure every member enjoys a clean, safe and welcoming environment. This is a 20-hour-per-week position, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has great attention to detail and enjoys being part of a team that delivers high standards every day. This role will be fixed term contract between 8-12 Months to cover Maternity.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain all gym areas, including fitness spaces, studios, changing rooms, showers and communal areas; Ensure gym equipment, touchpoints and surfaces are sanitised and presented to the highest standard; Complete scheduled cleaning tasks and daily compliance checks; Empty bins and manage waste disposal procedures; Monitor cleaning supplies and report stock requirements; Report maintenance issues and health and safety concerns promptly; Support the wider club team in delivering an exceptional member experience; Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety at all times

Requirements

Strong attention to detail; Reliable, organised and able to work independently; Positive attitude and strong work ethic; Excellent time management skills; Good communication and teamwork skills; Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice to have

Previous cleaning, housekeeping or facilities experience; Knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards and safe chemical handling; Experience working within leisure, hospitality, retail or commercial environments
