German speaking Financial Accountant

This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our Frankfurt office.

Responsibilities

Support the end-to-end processes of accounts payable and/or accounts receivable accounting; Provide accurate data for weekly cash flow forecasting and payment proposals for assigned entities; Assist the team with maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts; Act as the primary point of contact for incoming accounting-related mail and emails; handle inquiries independently or forward them to the appropriate person when necessary; Review, verify, and post incoming invoices, including managing associated workflows and administrative tasks; Support day-to-day accounting operations; Clarify and reconcile accounts payable and inter company accounts; Prepare payments and assist with payment runs; Contribute to the creation of statistics, reports, and ad-hoc analyses; Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in accordance with HGB/IFRS standards; Support the optimization of existing accounting and administrative processes

Requirements

Successfully completed vocational training in a commercial or business-related field; At least 4–5 years of professional experience in accounting; Native-level or excellent business-level German and negotiation-ready English skills; Professional experience with HGB (German GAAP) or IFRS; Strong aptitude for numbers and a solid understanding of fundamental legal and regulatory accounting requirements; Experience with ERP systems; Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; Structured, reliable, and independent working style with a keen eye for detail; Hands-on mentality, team orientation, and a willingness to take on operational tasks
