Google Ads Specialist

The Google Ads Specialist will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining Google Search advertising campaigns across a portfolio of local business clients. The Google Ads Specialist will oversee campaign performance, keyword strategy, bidding optimization, conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager implementations, reporting, and account health while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and campaign management. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Google Search Ads who enjoys using data-driven decision-making to maximize return on ad spend and generate measurable business results.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize Google Search Ads campaigns across a portfolio of local business clients; Monitor campaign performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization; Support new account launches by setting up campaigns, ad groups, keywords, tracking, and reporting; Ensure campaign strategies align with client objectives and business goals; Conduct keyword research and develop keyword expansion strategies; Build, manage, and maintain negative keyword lists to improve traffic quality; Create and optimize ad copy to improve click-through rates and conversions; Review and adjust bidding strategies to maximize campaign performance and return on ad spend (ROAS); Analyze search term reports and eliminate underperforming or irrelevant traffic; Monitor account health and continuously improve lead quality and campaign efficiency; Set up and manage Google Tag Manager implementations and conversion tracking; Audit campaign performance and troubleshoot tracking or attribution issues; Analyze campaign performance data and provide actionable recommendations; Build reports that communicate performance trends and optimization opportunities; Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure advertising efforts align with client goals; Utilize AI tools and internal systems to streamline campaign management workflows; Continuously identify opportunities to improve campaign efficiency and operational processes

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns; Extensive experience managing Google Search Ads campaigns; Proven experience optimizing campaigns to improve ROAS and conversion performance; Experience managing PPC campaigns for local businesses or service-based businesses; Experience implementing conversion tracking and attribution; Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously; Advanced proficiency with Google Ads; Advanced proficiency with Google Tag Manager; Strong understanding of keyword strategy, search intent, match types, and negative keyword optimization; Experience with conversion tracking, attribution, and campaign measurement; Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign data and make optimization decisions; Experience optimizing bidding strategies and improving campaign performance; Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently in a remote environment; Experience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to improve efficiency; Familiarity with Google Performance Max campaigns; Understanding of website tracking implementations; Basic knowledge of JavaScript, website pixels, or marketing technology integrations

Nice to have

Experience with Local Services Ads (LSAs) is preferred; Experience managing large portfolios of SMB accounts is preferred; Experience with SQL and reporting or data analysis tools is a plus
