Grocery Manager

The Grocery Manager oversees all aspects of Grocery department operations, including customer relations, inventory, scheduling, merchandising, sanitation, and expense control, and supervises associates within the department.

Responsibilities

Oversees all aspects of Grocery department operations; In the absence of store management, may assume complete responsibility for total store operations; Promotes excellent customer relations and resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally; Manages inventory levels and reviews orders to meet customer demand; Maintains backroom organization and product storage; Oversees shelf replenishment with prioritization for weekly specials and high-velocity items; Schedules Grocery associates, oversees training, provides coaching and feedback, evaluates work, and delegates assignments; Assists store management in onboarding grocery sales associates and participates in annual performance reviews; Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS); Develops and implements merchandising plans and attractive displays; Attends store daily huddles; Maintains backroom and receiving area security, organization, 5S procedures, and department sanitation; Controls expenses including payroll within budget; Minimizes damages and shrink through proper product handling and rotation; Cooperates with co-workers and superiors; May assist with receiving and deliveries, cardboard baling, and other departments if trained; Supervises associates within the department and may assume total building leadership in absence of store management; Ensures use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), completed or in progress; Minimum 3 years' experience in management of retail/supermarket environment; Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation
