What You Will Be Doing: General Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out routine painting, plastering, basic carpentry, tiling, and minor plumbing or electrical troubleshooting. Preventative Care: Conduct scheduled maintenance checks on guest rooms (e.g., lighting, furniture, fixtures) and public areas to fix issues before guests notice them. Rapid Response: Respond promptly and politely to urgent maintenance requests from guests or other hotel departments. Safety First: Maintain tools, equipment, and workshops in a safe, clean order, ensuring all work complies with workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in a handyperson, trade assistant, or building maintenance role; Practical, hands-on knowledge of painting, basic repairs, and using a variety of hand and power tools; A friendly, professional demeanor, as you will frequently interact with guests while working in room environments; The ability to work independently, manage a daily task checklist, and prioritize urgent tasks; Flexibility: Availability to work a rotating roster, which may include weekends or occasional on-call shifts for emergencies
