Head of People Technology

Atoms is building Physical AI, real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The Head of People Technology sets HR technology strategy, owns the Workday roadmap, builds new Workday capabilities, owns the integration layer, stays hands-on with configuration, leads the HR systems team, and runs the platform. The role is based in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Seattle office and is onsite five days a week.

Responsibilities

Set the HR technology strategy and own the Workday roadmap, deciding which modules to add or retire, which systems to integrate, and when to build in-house versus bring in an implementation partner; Build and deliver forward-looking Workday modules and capabilities the company needs as it scales globally; Optimize the current system by auditing the tenant, closing configuration gaps, and driving adoption; Own the integration layer, architecting and maintaining integrations between Workday and the surrounding stack (recruiting, payroll providers, benefits, finance, identity) using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs; Stay hands-on by configuring business processes, security, calculated fields, and reporting; Lead and grow the team, including two lead configuration analysts in the US and a manager in the Philippines leading integrations and configuration support; Run the platform, owning release management for Workday's biannual updates, data integrity, security, and audit readiness, and evaluating Workday's newer AI and data capabilities

Requirements

8+ years of HRIS experience, with Workday as your primary platform; Hands-on implementation and configuration depth, including standing up new Workday modules rather than only maintaining an existing setup; Built and owned integrations into Workday using tools such as Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs; Grown HR systems through real scale, supporting a company as it moved from hundreds to thousands of employees, ideally across multiple countries; Career blends implementation consulting or partner-side work with in-house roles, ideally at both a large organization and a high-growth company; Led a team, including distributed or offshore members, and comfortable directing implementation partners; Can go deep on configuration and hold their own in a strategy conversation with senior leaders
