Healthcare Assistant - Belfast Hospice

We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Belfast Hospice IPU. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will provide personal care, assist with meal delivery, and support patients with dignity and respect. You will also contribute to effective communication with families, including navigating sensitive and emotionally difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism. Requirements

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC); Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team; Knowledge of palliative and end of life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management; Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate appropriately; Willingness to work towards Health & Social Care Level 2; Must be available for day shifts, night shifts and weekends

Nice to have

Functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2; At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting
