Home Medical Equipment HME Technician

As an HME Tech , you will play a vital role in supporting patients who rely on home medical equipment for their daily care and comfort. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and teaching patients and their caregivers how to safely use essential medical equipment in their homes. Your day-to-day work will include visiting patients to provide hands-on instruction, responding to service calls, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and safely. You will also maintain accurate records, participate in on-call rotations for emergency situations, and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of medical devices. This role requires independence, strong organizational skills, and a genuine commitment to patient care, as you will be the trusted face of our home care services in the community.

Responsibilities

Load, deliver, set up and provide operational instructions, education and troubleshooting material to patients and caregivers on use of home medical equipment; Complete required documentation for equipment pick-ups, deliveries, set up and instruction; Respond to emergency delivery calls and participate in the on-call troubleshooting and delivery rotation; Clean and disinfect medical equipment; Inspect, test and perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's guidelines and company policy; Complete annual competencies on all products; Perform daily vehicle inspection and maintain vehicle inspection, inventory and route logs; May be responsible for operation and maintenance of the oxygen cylinder transfill station and warehouse functions; Work independently on-site with patients and family members while prioritizing work to balance patient satisfaction and company resources

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge; Valid driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy; One year of experience in hospital, home care, HME, transportation or other healthcare related setting; Excellent face-to-face customer service; Ability to meet the physical demands of the position; Ability to keep detailed records regarding equipment and medical records; Ability to communicate effectively; Able to prioritize and organize daily work according to patient needs; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintained for the duration of employment

Nice to have

Experience in equipment maintenance and repair; Knowledge of local delivery area; Additional related education and/or experience
