IML & Eastman Programs Manager, ESM

This position reports to the Director of the Institute for Music Leadership and provides essential programmatic and administrative support for the IML's operations and initiatives. Working in close collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director, the Program Manager coordinates and manages key operational functions including grant administration, event and program logistics, the Eastman Gig Service and Job & Opportunities Board, student worker oversight, and departmental financial processing. The role ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the IML office and contributes to the effective delivery of programs and services that support Eastman students' professional development and career readiness.

Responsibilities

Provide essential programmatic and administrative support for IML's operations and initiatives; Coordinate and manage key operational functions including grant administration, event and program logistics, Eastman Gig Service and Job & Opportunities Board, student worker oversight, and departmental financial processing; Manage grant processes for various programs; Provide marketing and recruitment services for grant programs; Manage, plan, and implement programs including special guest speakers, workshops and events; Manage logistics and event budgets; Manage Eastman Gig Service and Job and Opportunities Board; Oversee and manage IML student workers including scheduling, timekeeping, recruiting, and hiring; Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant experience; Must have confidentiality, strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills (Microsoft Programs), and an ability to work accurately with details; Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

Master's degree; Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse number of relationships faculty, staff, and student environment; Commitment to do so as a staff member at University of Rochester; Background or strong interest in music; Experience advising students on career-related topics; Ability to embrace and drive change; Ability to organize and effectively manage multiple priorities, programs, and projects; Demonstrated experience developing positive relationships, partnerships, and alliances; Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in the office environment; Ability to interface with employers, students, alumni, faculty, and university administrators; Maintain confidentiality; Web and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Ability to assess and report student-learning outcomes; Project management expertise; Ability to use social media and database systems
